Yes. Cultured pearls are sensitive to perfume, lotion, and perspiration, so put them on last when getting ready and take them off first. Wipe them with a soft, slightly damp cloth, and store the necklace separately so the pearls don’t get scratched.

Silver can oxidize when it comes into contact with perfume, body lotion, and perspiration — it’s a natural process, not a flaw. The shine is easy to restore with a silver polishing cloth or a cleaning kit, and storing it in a dry place slows down tarnishing.
